Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects play an increasingly significant role for companies to express themselves and enhance the welfare levels in the regions where they operate. Particularly in the mining sector, implementing CSR projects is crucial as an indicator of companies' sensitivity towards society.
Community Development and Social Responsibility Projects
Community Development Plans aim to fulfill the commitment to sustainable development by maximizing long-term positive impacts on stakeholders throughout the operational life. In this context, TÜMAD contributes significantly to all stakeholders surrounding mining areas as part of its efforts to be a good neighbor. Through needs analyses conducted by experts, social responsibility projects are implemented to ensure lasting social sustainability, focusing on education, health, infrastructure, and superstructure investments.
So far, among some significant projects in different fields:
- Nurettin Çarmıklı Vocational and Technical High School in İvrindi district of Balıkesir province, contributing to the education and training needed by our sector.
- Erol Çarmıklı Anatolian High School in Lapseki district of Çanakkale province, equipped with modern classrooms and laboratories.
- Havran Science and Technology Center in Havran district of Balıkesir province, contributing to the development of future scientists.
In addition to these investments, based on the fundamental data obtained from Social Impact Assessment studies, projects that contribute to the economic and social development of the local community have been implemented, such as "Çilek Kokulu Tarlalar", "Fidanlar Ağaç Olsun", "Mantar Yetiştiriciliği", "Kozalak Boyama", "Telkari", "İş Gömleği Dikim", "Bilgisayar Okur-Yazarlığı", and "Yem Bitkisi Yetiştiriciliği", added value to the local community.
Through its investments aimed at meeting societal needs, TÜMAD continues to support sustainable development and advancement by improving living standards in the regions it operates in the medium and long term.
