The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) is a multi-stakeholder organization established by the United Nations Environmental Commission, headquartered in Washington, D.C. The International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC), developed by the Institute, is the most established certification program in the mining sector, covering the entire process from supply, transport, storage of cyanide, its use at facilities, to communication with stakeholders.

ICMC | International Cyanide Code Management

TÜMAD Operations, as the first Turkish mining company certified by the Institute, complies with the requirements of the International Cyanide Code (ICMC), which consists of 9 policies, 29 procedures, and nearly 200 control points related to the safe and environmentally sensitive use of cyanide in mining. Our compliance with the components of the cyanide code is annually audited by expert teams within the company, and every three years, we undergo recertification audits conducted by international independent auditors affiliated with the Institute, achieving a 'zero error' certification status.
